DAMAGE SURVEY

SIM Damage Surveyors conduct investigations of cargo damage or loss claims on behalf of P&I Clubs, Owners, Receivers, etc. to determine the probable cause and extent of the damages that may have occurred during shipment and to assist in mitigating further losses in the future. The recommended repairs and an estimated cost of repairs are also provided.

STOWAGE, LASHING AND SECURING SURVEY

SIM surveyors are engaged in the stowage, lashing and securing of all types of vessels and their cargo; they are focused on the following items: monitoring the safe handling and loading of the cargo, giving advice on proper stowage, verifying the cargo units are duly lashed and secured; they conduct Lashing Calculations and provide technical advice to issue the Stowage Plan.

CARGO SAMPLING SURVEY

The importance of taking representative samples of the whole quantity of the cargo inspected is imperative in the quality control of a shipment. SIM surveyors take samples to be analysed or simply keep them under custody.
