HATCH SEALING SURVEY

SIM surveyors conduct Hatch Sealing inspections to ensure that no contamination or loss of cargo occurs during the sea voyage prior to final destination. These surveys are conducted on board the vessel at the completion of loading. SIM surveyors carry out the sealing of all cargo hold accesses, including hatch covers and manhole accesses, using either box seals or lead wire seals; a “Hatch Sealing Certificate” is provided to the vessel at the completion of the survey, certifying that all hatches and accesses were sealed.
